This is great! The value of this goes beyond what it creates. Complex data models are not something that the citizen dev are used to. Having this in plain site is so powerful to learn from.

I absolutely agree! This is one step closer to further democratizing app dev for everyone

From UML and Rational Rose 25 years ago to Copilot, it's amazing to see the advances in app development!

A very interesting video, April. What I don't understand is what the licencing requirements are - does only the app creator need the copilot licence? Or does everyone who uses the app need the copilot licence?
@AprilDunnam5 ай бұрын
There isn't any additional license needed for the copilot itself that builds the data model for you, however, it is creating this data in Microsoft Dataverse so that means that whoever is creating the app and is using the app needs a paid Power Apps plan to access the data in Dataverse.

Thanks April, great overview! Just a question - I'm guessing you need proper knowledge in Power Apps in order to customize the screens, right? We can't perform Copilot-related changes that much yet to customize it by just typing it in the Copilot chat?

This is a great question! There is a copilot experience in the app designer, however, at the current time it's pretty limited in what it can do. It can do simple things like add buttons, icons, screens, etc but you still very much need to have knowledge in Power Apps to heavily customize any of the screens

Unfortunately cannot leverage til they cover SharePoint Lists as a datasource

Do you only use SharePoint as a data source? What are your big reasons for that? You can import data from SharePoint and utilize virtual tables for a two way sync

@@AprilDunnam we have a Microsoft E5 license and heavily leveraged SharePoint lists and the SharePoint ecosystem and cannot license our 1K + user base for data verse but absolutely would if it were included in our E5
