No reason to throw a rookie QB right into the fire. Brady, Rodgers, Love and Mahomes all sat for their first season plus some. Draft a QB, let him sit behind say Brissette who's familiar with Van Pelt's system for a season or so. They'll need time to gather talent around him. Your not "wasting" a season. The rookie can sit, observe and learn.

Probably the best they could get. Think about it, what would be the draw to bring a top OC candidate to NE? Brand new HC with no track record, you're following in the shadows of a 20 year dynasty so fan expectations are high, and you have minimal talent on offense. No real starting QB, a very poor offensive line and virtually no talent at WR. Not a real attractive situation for an OC. Hopefully him being an outsider will bring new energy and ideas to the organization. No way to go but up .

I hope the Pats draft a QB and then build the OL, WR and TE groups over the next 2 drafts and free agency periods. They can sit the rookie QB to learn and develop for a year. No sense throwing a rookie QB out there with no OL. If they draft MHJ they have no QB, OL or TEs. To draft a QB in 2025 would delay the whole process until maybe 2026-27 season. By then MHJ will be close to hitting free agency. I doubt any good QBs will choose the Pats in free agency and its not often good QBs are traded. I dont want to see a bunch of QBs who didnt work out with their first or 2nd team and the Pats hope can turn it around. We need young talent and to actually hit on drafting WRs ,OL, TEs. A franchise caliber QB is hard to get and the Pats shouldnt count on getting a top pick after next season.
