This is interesting as i wondered if undergrad nurses like me can perform RSI during emergencies in my state. I have gotten RSI a number of times and can't emphasize enough about the importance of pain management + adequate amnestic general anesthetics when intubating (it is very painful!).

I was awake during this. I never wanted to die so badly in my life. It started out fine ... I remember them shutting my lungs off... Heh.. this is neat... Hey mom, no lungs! But then i ran out of air. Ok.. fuck this.. breathe.. breathe! Ok, this really hurts now. WTF!!! The pain was absolute and it just kept getting worse. I was burning from the inside. I couldnt understand why i wasnt passing out. I kept on thinking this will do it... But it got worse... No this is the worst pain... No... This.... Now this....HOLY FUCK JUST KILL ME!!! And then it stopped. I lost conciousness shortly after.
