I remember going to Battle of The Bands back in the 90's. That was my s**t. NEG will always be my #1 as they were the first band I ever seen do a live show at the good ol' Sugar Kane Palace. BYB is my #2, my first show seeing them was at the Black Hole. The good ol' days. This summer I did the Baltimore Harbor with DCVybe Band, that was a good time and the next day hit the Tysons show and partied with them some more. I love the bands. I love the music. Keep doing what y'all doing. 😊❤

I went to Blade 90-94 and as I fully came into the Go-Go realm bout 91, 92 I learned Kurt, Rappa and Lil Boogie went there. I realized most of this in hindsight. There is a page in the Blade yearbook where Rappa wrote something like “To the Capital Center” on the top of the page of one of his pics 🙌🏽 and they did that 💯 Lot of great talent came from Blade in that period including Cannibus…Love what y’all doing #SiriusVybePrimetime 🤟🏽✊🏽👊🏽

Why do people keep forgetting the legacy of Trouble ? They are the only GOGO band that has toured the world on SEVERAL occasions. While other DC bands were doing the local "gladiator tour" in the 80s Trouble was performing in Japan, Amsterdam, Germany, etc. spreading the GOGO genre. They have a deep catalogue of original music and have been sampled by more people than anyone out of the DMV. Dyke (RIP) and Big Tony were pioneers and set the bar when DC Bands transitioned from Funk/R&B to GOGO back in the late 70s. Give them their "flowers" or some special award at "GOGO LIVE '25". 🤟🏾🎼🤟🏾

21:00 Facts! Rappa is a dope Artist. He is passionate. Some may confuse that with arrogance--but that could be a “them” problem. I’ve never got that from him at all. You do have to be assessable at times- because you are a big personality in the genre. However, you have to protect your inner peace. He has a family and all of that. All of these Artist do. Some fans may be over-zealous and try to reach them on a personal level. Have to set boundaries. Because some think that because they are a fan of yours and pay to see you….that you owe them. Sure, you appreciate them being fans--but you can’t sacrifice privacy. So when an artist set boundaries--then you’re labeled as arrogant. That’s not fair. Salute! 🫡
