Great reaction! SoI is one of the best bands in all of Deathcore, Ben is an S Tier vocalist like Dickie Allen or Alex Terrible! He did the entire breakdown in one take! If you check out more of them these are all dope: The Catacombs (Ft. Dickie Allen, Jason Evans), The Forsaken Effigy, Malediction, Cthonic Odyssey.

That’s what I thought initially but apparently there’s a vocal technique that makes it sound like 2 voices. Idk if that’s what’s going on here or not

Most of us actually start out that way. The extreme vocals are usually an acquired taste, which sometimes turns into fascination when you realize how incredibly difficult it can be to actually be versatile in using such vocals (or to do so without instantly destroying your vocal structures). I only listened to the heavier stuff in metal and rock because of the guitars. Later came to appreciate the extreme vocals as well, but not all of them. I understand a growl or grunt here and there for ''effect or texture'' but other than that I want some enunciation as well ;p

Great reaction and analysis. I would say The Heretic Prevails is Shadow of Intent's version of To The Hellfire. They got the crazy showcase-ish breakdowns and vocals that punch you in the face. Then there's their newer stuff like "Underneath A Sullen Moon", which dialed down the brutality a little. I would compare it to Lorna Shore's "And I Return to Nothingness".
@mr.gilmore88043 жыл бұрын
