I think it is interesting that the song starts in the clouds and goes back to the clouds again before the final scene. Especially with the final line being “they know where my head is”. Between the album cover and this song I feel like the motif he is going for is that his head is in the clouds and usually reality is disruptive to him but the relationship in this music video is that he is disruptive to reality.

Notice the house number at 17:15 as he's leaving the burning house? It's 429. 429 is said to be an "angel number" meaning "start working hard", also interpreted as a "sign that you will have all you need in your life with hard work and determination". (Weirdly the HTTP return status code 429 indicates "too many requests", which is also a sign to "start working harder". :)) I can't be sure as I'm only discovering NF (deep-diving actually), but from what I've seen so far it wouldn't surprise me if even a minuscule detail like a house number is not random but very intentional. I can imagine it as a message to the "Rollie rocking rappers" to start working harder, or as symbol of NF's own work ethic.

Absolutely the best real time breakdowns on KZbin. Not many can see so deeply into the lyrics, beats and videos especially on the first take. Unbelievable!

So this is a kinda breakdown/theory for the ending of this song. Disclaimer: some of this is speculation it may not be 100% accurate, but I’m gonna try and make it as real as possible. Knox Hill, if you’re reading this, I hope you enjoy it. 🙏🏻 “I always advance Say how I feel You know where I stand Raisin’ the bar I gotta expand” Nate’s raising the bars in this song 🔥, his work is constant getting better, and therefore increasing the expectations of other rappers, as well as himself. Also, he’s raising the bar by expanding to a mix tape. “Top of the charts, I’m setting up camp Pound in my stakes, I put up my tent” NF’s constantly on the top of the charts whenever he drops a song or an album, so he’s setting up camp cause he’s staying at the top. Also “stakes” could be a reference to him staking his claim at the top. “I shoot for the stars, they fall in my hand I stick to my guns, I don’t even flinch Can push all you want, ain’t movin’ an inch” Nate’s achieving all the things he’s wants in life by doing what he loves. His shoots for his stars (goals) and they fall in his hand. Nate also sticks to his guns, his music, his style, his flow, his faith, and no matter what anyone says or does to him, he’s adamant, and not moving anywhere. The last part of the song is kinda self explanatory, no really any hidden meanings, but could we all just appreciate the scene. Nate says he’ll never go “Hollywood,” but at the same time he’s making a movie in front of us (and dare I say it’s better that Hollywood.) This was all real (here’s a link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/raHQlZSBmpuMqNU), sure they were stunt drivers but for scenes like this, it’s gotta be the real thing for him, not green screen. Also, look at the imagery he creates here. He’s walking a fine line, and not in his lane. He’s fed up with “following the rules.” It’s also symbolic of him swimming upstream, being an opposing force against all these other rappers, and look what he’s doing. The cars are “other rappers”, and look and him, he’s wrecking the industry! (Car wrecks) Anyways, that’s my take on it, let me know how close to I was to Nate’s meanings, maybe I’m just over speculating, maybe, I don’t know, let me know. Oh, and Knox Hill, if you’re reading this, let me know, what you think of my thoughts. Not to flatter you, but you’re my favourite person to react to songs, and I love your music. When you react, you’re so well versed (see what I did there), on double meanings, lyrics, politics, the rapper as a person, and references. Keep up the good work.👍🏻

I actually your reactions so much. You actually break down and explain the smallest details of the visuals, sounds, lyrics, rhymes, metaphors, etc. in comparison to other reactions who only point out the most obvious things of the song. it's crazy how you don't have more views. You well deserve it.

One thing I think everyone has missed so far is that at the end the music in the streets the distortion sound is from IT. NF seems to really like to pull on dark characters in his persona. I have been a fan of NF for a long time and glad to see more is coming out.

I noticed this the first time I listened! I think I had just watched IT Part 1 (still haven't watched part 2 cause part 1 freaked me out so much). Its so eerie but also fucking amazing! He does this often, I find myself comparing NF/Tommee to composers for movies.

Dope song, i love NF music so much. One of the only artists where you can not only listen but feel it also. It was a refreshing scene seeing him show a side of humor and happiness rather than only melancholy. Also its been a while since i have stopped by, good to be back. Much love knox and keep doing you brother.

Can I just tell you that I appreciate you actually break down songs . I'm getting substance with this beyond the entertainment value of a personality. There's only one other reactor that's does this and I give you two a round of applause. 👏👏👏

I loved watching a professional really analyze NF's song because most people probably were focused on the visuals and crazy transitions of his music video, but Knox managed to focus on both the lyrics and video production. Also, the road scene at the end was in real life, using stunt drivers. There's a behind the scenes showing that.

Knox, first time viewer and I gotta say. I’ve listened to this song so many times, countless and never put together everything you did just reacting. I just enjoyed the musical part. Forgetting what NF is really about!!! Wow, I’m a grown ass man and I really like this kids music. I thought I loved the music when I was growing up. No. NF is so “woke” with life, but not without living through pain first, he owes us nothing. Here he is. Allowing us to view his creations. Actually walk through cars and not living in front of a green screen. I cannot believe people are pressing him for so much more. He owes us nothing!!! And this BANGER. Come on y’all. The Semi is coming!!! Enjoy it. Appreciate it!!! NF I hope you take some time off and enjoy that beautiful child you’ll be guiding through this world. Giving that beautiful soul the life experiences you never got to have. Thank you.
