Whenever people say that the album 'All Hope Is Gone' is not heavy, I mention this song. It's one of the heaviest the band has ever done. Fact.

I think most people mean when compared to Self Titled, Iowa, and to a lesser extent Vol. 3. This album is heavy, but maybe Slipknot's least heavy album.
@FlyboyHelosim3 жыл бұрын
@@Disturbed928 I don't know, I don't find .5 or WANYK particularly heavy. It has a few, but generally you can hear much more of Shawn's influence which is arty weird transitions and filler.

I always wonder if whoever it was that sprayed "All Hope Is Gone" onto a piece of broken plywood in some ruin of an abandoned building is aware of having given Slipknot the name to their album and also this song? If I remember correctly it was Clown who stumbled upon it and took a picture of it and everyone in the band except he himself liked it and thought it'd be a great album title. He didn't understand why all hope was gone and didn't like the message it send but then Paul passed and suddenly he understood. Paul obviously died roughly 2 years later and so it didn't influence the album or this song but it's still a crazy foreshadowing almost in hindsight.

Slipknot did one of their famous AHIG era photoshoots in that building. Also, there's actually an underground Iowan band who did a music video in that exact same place. You can clearly see all that graffiti on the walls.

Fun fact they've only played this song live like once or twice. I guess this and "gemetria" are really hard to play live. Such a banger though.
@eduardotira6411 Жыл бұрын
Corey said in an interview that the problem with Gematria is that the song isnt really fit the set up.. and if they put in , they have to erase one song from their set list..Slipknot cut out wait and bleed for Dead Memories for 3/4 shows.. AND people get mad about it..They are tired of playing that song but it was requested..if they play all song they wanted the concert must long about 2 hours and is must be exhausting for them playing that long specially when most of the members are 50 years old or more.

All Hope Is Gone is heavily regarded as Slipknots worst album with Corey Taylor, but I love several songs off this album. I think Psychosocial, Sulfur, Snuff are awesome. Dead Memories and Gematria and Wherein Lies Continue are all solid songs.
