One of the songs that gets overplayed so much that it's hard to step back and actually examine it for what it is. Party song but the shit is hard as fuck. Cadence and phrasing in the flow is crazy as shit.

Everlast originally from Long Island and moved Cali during high school I believe. He went to the same high school as Ice Cube, and befriended Divine Styler. Ice-T signed him at 17. There’s a great interview with him on Sway celebrating 30 year anniversary of Jump Around. Definitely worth a watch

The other member of House of Pain was Danny Boy. He didn’t have any lines on this song but he may be on the chorus. He was on other songs though. Now he is known for restoring the house from the movie The Outsiders. It’s like a museum now. I had the Shamrocks and Shenanigans single back in the day, and it had some great remixes. The Butch Vig grunge remix was fantastic. You should do that over the original version, and they did put out a video for that remix.

House of Pain was Everlast, Danny Boy O'Conner, and DJ Lethal (who was also in Limp Bizkit). Their second album was soooo good. "Back From The Dead", "On Point", "Who's The Man?" were all amazing songs off that second album. As a matter of fact, there was a movie around 1993 (i think it was one MTV's first movies they made, a few years before "joe's apartment") called "who's the man" and their song was in the intro credits. the movie had every big rapper during that period - house of pain (of course), naughty by nature, salt and peppa, heavy d, ice t, krs-one, fab five freddy, kris kross, busta rhymes, shock g (better known as humpty). look it up, watch it, it's not a good movie, but it is fun.
