Rappin' With ReefBum is a LIVE talk show with host Keith Berkelhamer and guests from the reef keeping community. In this episode I chat with Jake Adams from Reef Builders. Jake is the managing editor of ReefBuilders.com and is also the co-host of the Reef Therapy podcast with Mark Van der Wal.
Besides creating content, Jake has shared his knowledge and passion for the hobby by speaking at many reef club and marine aquarium events, and by writing articles for aquarium publications across the globe. His primary interest is in corals which Jake pursues in the aquarium hobby, as well as diving the coral reefs of the world.

Great conversation guys! Jake, I am very intrigued with the idea of antibiotics. We have been medicating our fish for decades, why not our corals, they get sick just like every other animal in existence. I would love to here more. I wonder how this could change the survival rate of wide corals?

Nice chat! Another great way of getting detritus kicked up is turning up your flow at night when your fish are tucked in at night. A lot of people turn the flow down at night, I say crank it up throughout the night. Totally agree with halides being the be all end all acropora light of choice. I have a pair of 250w 14k Hamilton’s with quanta pro Meso blue bars ready to grow some acropora and clams.

Yeah Jake, the GHl Mitras software experience is not much better than 5 years ago. Some improvements - but not enough. I guess with lighting you shouldn’t be making many changes so it doesn’t matter as much for the Mitras
