Here is my belief: Apple is like Woody; being the respected and benevolent leader of the EAH student body/Andy's toys. Raven is like Buzz Lightyear; the "newcomer" of the group with awesome powers (spacesuit with multiple gadgets/dark magic) and an unshakable belief on what they believe is true (Being a real space ranger/ability to rewrite destiny). They both start off with an intense rivalry thinking that the other is completely insane, but overtime they overcome their differences and begin to respect and cherish one another as best friends.

The kiss should've been between them. First cus they have the most intresting relationship (I love Darling but they didn't prepare it much), and second because that would proof that they can get the happily ever after without following the book. Making Raven be Apple's true love kiss and wake her from the evil queen's spell would've made so much sence, Apple get her true love kiss that saves her and Raven doesn't end up the villain but the hero of the story
