Sandro Marcos ends OVP budget hearing before P500-M confidential fund is questioned

For the second year in a row, Vice President Sara Duterte breezed through the House appropriations committee as it terminated without any questions on Wednesday, August 30, the deliberations on the the proposed P2.385 billion budget of the Office of the Vice Presiden (OVP).

The government should open a website that contains all the expenses of the government from all departments. Everyone is welcome to check if the money is well spent by doing their own evaluation of any project. No more "confidential funds".Everything should be open to the public. Exercising traditional courtesies [alien to strong democracies around the world] by traditional politicians or “trapo.” Democracy has checks and balances. Democracy has accountability. Democracy has transparency. Democracy maintains the rule of law through institutions like the COA and the House of Congress. Democracy mandates that one as a member of the Parliament and or the Congress obliges that one should question the allocation of budget and questions the anomalous transactions under Sara. This is no different when Duterte in his last administration instructed the Ombudsman through a legal instrument to NOT question OR DARE to question the NON filing of his SALN. I am sure you would apply the very same principle you have invoked much earlier. Because this is an obvious over riding of the systems of democracy (yet again under the same name duterte)
