He chose family. All his nba career he was far from family. He talked about this. Seeing his nephews and nieces grow and not recognising them. That hurt him. He also asked for PG and Westbrook for Pascal and FVV. Nick Nurse would have been coaching Lowry, OG, Powell, Ibaka, Gasol, Green, Kawhi, a veteran would have joined on a minimum salary. Nick Nurse would have known how to use Westbrook like he does Pascal.

It’s always those kinda plays that really shows whether a team has it in them or not. I could also say the same for the Bucks in 2021, when they faced the Nets in game 7 and KD missed that shot in OT, I just knew the Bucks could win it all.

The Raptors are a good team don’t get me wrong, but to do incredible stuff like winning a championship, coming back from a 3-0 deficit, etc. A team needs that bonafide superstar. And after the Raptors lost Kawhi, they ain’t gonna do anything for awhile. They need to find their no. 1 guy again if they wanna win or experience the success they had before.

The music with a singer clashes with the audio of the analysts/speaking scenes, its like listening to two people speaking at the same time. I prefer something instrumental only in this case, but great cuts of details and events only a fan would see! On a side note, 36:12 this is why he is the greatest Raptor of all time.

I'm a Hawks fan (born and raised in Georgia, USA) but I gotta say, I absolutely loved this season and the run the Raptors went on. When y'all traded for Kawhi I had a feeling y'all were gonna make a serious run and the rest is history. Amazing job on the video and will always be the last NBA Champions before the world went all to hell.

I sometimes think of the team as the protagonists of their 2019 run, Green was the herald, and Kawhi was some kind of their deus ex machina (but ofcourse they all did their part).. unfortunately, for legends, they come they go.. still a tearjerker with their humble beginnings ❤️🔥

Not true. He didn't trade him, management did upon Kawhi's request. You forget Kwahi was out the whole previous season for the Spurs and when he got well demanded a trade a d refused to play. That made his stock go down(injury history, sitting out because he did load management and because he refused to play) and other teams were nervous to give up too much for him. San Antonio eventually settled for Derozan and the rest is history.
