Raphael Leal Afghanistan doesn't have an Arab culture, just the religion. The culture is Central Asian. And Afghanistan shares more similarities with the Persian Iran than with the Arab world.

*Zerbaghali* is very different from *Darbuka* Zerbaghali is a Persian Instrument and it's made very differently than an Arabic Darbuka. Although they kinda look the same.

Hopefully other instrument makers will copy the design and make the instrument cheaper, maybe it has already been done and they are available in places like...turkey? The price for a kamanche doesn't have to be very expensive if you look around and building something similar like this instrument should't be insanely more pricey. Cheers!
