"The final problem is solved by pouring sulfuric acid, all over your back n watchin your spinal column dissolve." Love that shit. "Till Hell Freezes over" is another great one. "I'm into voodoo, tarot cards, and ouija boards, lighting candles camping out at haunted beach resorts. I write the dark shit, and rap about perverted violence, ghost stories of people murdered on derserted islands" "I used to sell pizzas, now I got 12 visas, so tell Jesus imma quit sinnin when hell freezes" that shit into the first hook, classic.

A few things: It’s EXTREMELY rare for people to pop up outta nowhere and start trashing Em. That goes for fans as well as other artists. What we have when it comes to Em is a Hatfields vs McCoys/ chicken or the egg kinda thing. Each side blames the other for starting the war. Read the comments, and you’ll see what I mean. One side says Em is the absolute greatest, nobody else is close, every single song/verse is perfect, and the greatest verse of all time from all other artists isn’t better than Em’s worst verse ever. And for whatever reason, they wanna force EVERYONE in the universe to verbally agree and validate how they view Em. Then there’s the other side. They say that Em is trash, doesn’t belong in hip hop, he’s ONLY famous bc he’s white, and a whole bunch of ridiculousness. And I’ve noticed that these usually come from people who are arguing the other side. It’s like both go to extremes to combat the opposite extremes. So he’s either the absolute best or the absolute worst. And that’s the problem. People use extremes when arguing from emotion and not logic. But don’t worry… I feel the same way about Jay Z as an emcee. I think he’s the most overrated emcee in history. I just know too much. I know too much about the marketing, the stolen flows, lyrics, styles, entire songs, beats, EVERYTHING. Same with Em. I know too much to put him into his own realm as a rapper. Both are EXTREMELY talented and have classics under their belt.

Most Def and Black Thought are 2 of the best fu-king lyricists in the history of mankind!!! I don't know if Em meant Miley Cyrus, but he did mention Taylor Swift that you completely missed. "Mailed a gift to Taylor Swift's trailler of my genetai with a note that said 'I can't wait to nail ya": Between Em and Trick Trick Benji's life is over for that Proof bar!!! He wasn't directly dissing Proof, but close enough! You don't speak I'll of the dead! Especially a Detroit Legend like Proof! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

You're not good in your reasoning. The crowd reactions were loud and Eminem didn't even START HIS VERSE YET. In Hip-hop you're not given the anything until you prove yourself. You read a comment about how they gave it to Mos Def but you spoke up for Eminem. Eminem belongs in Hip-Hop and he was never the problem. It's bias so called fans like you that are the issue and Black Thought took that and they all did good.

@blacksuburban2410 Жыл бұрын
Last thing. In your breakdown, you proved EXACTLY what’s been argued AGAINST in this conversation. You just said that it’s all about crowd reaction. And it’s NOT. It’s about the craft itself. And that’s where classic hip hop purists are coming from when it comes to Em. The amount of records sold, radio play, and even awards don’t hold more weight than the craft. Google the top 25 hip hop songs in terms of numbers. Eminem brought a whole new demographic of fans over to hip hop. And ironically, it was his beefs with the pop stars that did it! So just because a lot of people buy his music doesn’t put you on the top emcees list. Also, Em’s voice, tone, flow, rhyme pattern, and genius level ability to rhyme words that don’t actually rhyme are ALL top notch! Anyone who says anything different is either hatin or don’t know rap. Where purists part ways with Em is his lyrical content. What is he talking about here? Koala bears, Paula Abdul, chihuahuas, stitches, etc. He rode that beat like a madman! He just didn’t say shyt. Em didn’t originate his flow, style, or rhyme pattern. And in my personal opinion, he’s not even the best at the multis. Pun was bananas with it. Lastly, you did know that the crowd reactions here are automated, right? The cyphers are pre-recorded, not Live or in front of an audience. Even still, more cheers doesn’t have anything to do with the quality of the verse. How many monster hits came out that cause crazy reactions even when you don’t understand or know what they’re talking about?
@CliffBeatsOfficial Жыл бұрын
You completely misunderstood what I said. When in a cypher, you’re playing to a crowd. Same when performing to a crowd. Did you not see people behind them and around them reacting to their bars? Have you been in a rap cypher or battle before? The person who wins the crowd over wins the battle. Mos def may have had the best wordplay out of all of them there but it wouldn’t fly in a punchline battle. Something black thought and Em have both mastered. Mos def went for flow patterns, black thought spit a verse from a song, and Em used a written freestyle set up for shock value. Punchlines and shock value typically wins over crowds. They all killed it.

Em IS "HIP-HOP" just like Mos and Black Thought. They are barring it up to compete against one another. Em was Em. Generally just leaves you shaking your head in disbelief. IMO Black Thought was ehhh.....ok. But to be clear, if this was almost anyone other than Black Thought, I'd be impressed. So generally speaking, its a great freestyle. It just loses points bc I expect so much more from Black Thought. And Mos Def....this mf'er has the slicked flow I've ever heard. Its amazing how smooth he is.He rides the beat perfectly and I dont think theres anyone else that does it like Mos Def. Both Mos Def and Eminem are unmistakable when you hear them. There are a few other rappers who have an unmistakable style & sound.
