Wow! What a cool old tractor! From an era when life was much simpler. Family farms were a way of life and they could support a family and make a nice living. Families were tight and worked together. Everyone had their job to do. Neighbors were always there for each other.... Sitting way in the back of that thing makes it seem like you are driving a freaking locomotive! Lol! My dad had an R John Deere. You sat way on back of them too, but they weren't as long cuz they didn't have that great big old six cylider engine. I can't believe how easy that thing started for you. You didn't even have to bleed the injectors out. Be fun to hook a plow to the old girl n put her to work. Leave yourself plenty of room and enuf time to turn at the end the field cuz like you said. They don't turn on a dime! Lol! If you get it out in the field, please post a video. I like the green ones, but It's fun to see old tractors out in the field no matter what color they are. Like you, I've worked on all kinds of them over the years.

I learned how to drive a tractor on a ford 9 N, then immediately graduated up to our moline GVI. I spent many hours running that old girl. (Still have it 45 years later) I then graduated up to a Massey 1100, and then to a 1135 at 17 years of age. Still have the 1135 also. Anyway, those old wheat lands have a special place in my heart.

bought a 656 utility diesel with loader, not running. Pump had been rebuilt. The person who put it back on did the job incorrectly. Tore the seal at the pump to the crank case. Dumped fuel into the oil pan. Also did not replace the filters. Filters replaced, did the best I could rinsing out the fuel tank once removed, injection pump rebuild, had water in it and rust, injectors cleaned, obsolete now, and upgraded the glow plugs with solenoid battery connections. $2400 later and it is a hard start tractor. The Roosamaster like the one you have in that Mini and the poor injector/glow plug design is not great. Remember Grandpa telling me as a 10 year old, he did not like diesels, he was a IH guy and custom thresher man. He said the International Governors were the best for belt work. He ran a F30 and NIckle Shepard and Red river threshing machines. Every time the 656 gives me grief starting I think of his words. However, my Hydro 70 and 966 diesel, no problems
