This is a proper village life in Albanian mountains ( in the North, North East) alongside the food. I spent a lot of time at my grandmas eating this kind of food( but with electricity). This place looks still wild..

They have electricity but cooking with wood fire is cheaper and also makes the food taste better. I live in the center of Fier and many families use fire to warm up their homes and cook a little.

_"the combination..."_ aha! lakror, pending on its filling, can be combined with foods that most in the west would never even consider - for example a spring onion and paprika filling in lakror goes with either 🍇 or watermelon 🍉 or stinging nettle with paprika filling goes with a homemade sour plum sauce... yep..stinging nettles 😆 not the best tasting but omce the sour plum sauce is poured onto the filling it is edible. fyi to entice children into eating lakror with stinging nettles a coin would be placed inside the filling lol... killed it bro! long trip and very informative with some great advice. sending out there ✌

FYI for you Dave: Those panini (or panine as we call them) with kebabs are a bit far from what I enjoyed in 2003 at "Daj Meti" (uncle Met) an old man in Pazari i Ri (New Bazaar) in Tirana. He used to cook the kebabs over ember fire slow, very slow and the place was full of smoke. At Daj Meti on top of those kebabs you put sea salt mixed with powdered non spicy red pepper. The taste was heavenly. Unfortunately, daj Meti has passed away and his son-in- law has totally destroyed the product. However, you may still find similar to daj Meti's but I have not been lucky and I am Albanian??? Hahaha

Not sure why Erjan told you Bajram Curri is called also Tropoja. Tropoja is a huge municipality that includes Bajram Curri which is main town of Tropoja.
