It's not the speed or technical stuff that makes me admire him....it's his humbleness and sheer humility shown towards les paul. His solo's and effects get all the attention BUT he's in another league on playing rhythm. Thanks for just being spontaneous and yourself Ed.

The absolute genuine affection between them, and Ed's respect for Les is something you don't see in music at all anymore. I always remember Les's quote to Eddie; "Only three people know how to build a guitar. You, me and Leo Fender."

Brian could build guitars from parts but I have never read or heard anything about an improved piece of one. EVH improved about 10 aspects of guitar parts to make his guitars sound and react the way he wanted them to. At least six of the are now the standard why the entire guitar industry does it, the best of all was potting the pickups. @@philosopher0076

Les Paul is a guitar God in his own right. And Les Paul, like so many others realized that Edward Van Halen was a gamechanger. To hear Mr. Paul say "Eddie, GO GET 'EM"...... solidifies his own realization that Edward Van Halen is ...... simply Mt. Rushmore behind Jimi Hendrix. I remember seeing this YEARS ago when it originally hit the "tele." Les Paul was so just freaking cool and so much of an innovator..... having King Edward on and allowing him to be "Edward" was just awesome. This production just brings back so many memories like so many others for us Edward Van Halen fans. Shred in peace King Edward!!

I know. I'm still shocked and this is two years after your remark. Paul McCartney once said (as if describing a film) Brian Epstein and been "wrenched out of the picture." Eddie was ripped out of the film, out of the picture suddenly and it's kind of frightening.

Eddie is showing us the living embodiment of the saying "I can see what I see because I stand upon the shoulders of the Giants who came before me." Its an awesome thing to see a meeting of 2 brilliant geniuses from 2 different eras, and see that there's mutual respect and admiration between them. I live for stuff like this.
