Rare and vintage kits for sale in Detroit

I skipped past the newer kits and focused on the rare stuff from the swap meet area at the Detroit model show today.

Putting models together is a hobby you can carry on throughout your life. I passed it on to my sons, and grandchildren. Models are far more expensive today than they were when I was a kid....you could buy a really good model back then for $3 bucks!!!

It’s so weird how prices have blown up. Back in 1965 a friend and I used to always go out and get my models.All for most for $1.49 to the most expensive which was two dollars and we thought that was a lot. I’d like to bring back the old days. They were AMT’s , JoHahn, Revell and more ! Regular 1/25 scale

Just saw @ 1:20 minutes into video, my Model that I have had for years that I bought at a thrift store for 1.99. It was Complete ( it was open). Had the instructions and everything. i have a few of the kits that I saw here. it took me years to find them in unbuilt condition and they were not cheap . some people pay a fortune for the restored car that they dreamed of as a child. i paid a lot for the unbuilt model kits that I had as a child in the 60s. it’s a personal thing….

I hit the subscribe button and i ust say that I enjoyed this video nice slow video showing off some very good models and even though some of the models were overpriced some were very reasonable. Having said that I was wondering if some time you could add the sellers website so that some of us can purchase models without going to the shows. I just got back into the hobby. I am practicing on a couple modern kits whilst I learn/re-learn things but then concentrating on the AMT kits which came out when I first did model cars, to wit 1958-1963. 5:05 shows a couple of them. Thanks for the tour!

I had a friend of mine offer me nearly $500 the other day for some of my older kits that I've had for more than 25 years and they are the large scale way past the 1/8 level I have a 1968 Camaro a 1934 roadster and the famous Golden tee and a 57 Chevy these are the large scale editions and I told them absolutely no way cuz they are extremely hard to find and large-scale models versus 125th or hard to get

I bought the Olds Aerotech from the same vendor that had the Entex Honda Accord at 3:10 - wish i had seen the Accord too! I love plain old daily driver type cars, especially from teh 80s and 90s. I agree David, I think eventually they all will be. They use 3d scanning now to recreate the originals for kits. It’s just a matter to time… thanks for watching👍
