This machine is a type of "arbor press" or "punch" with a custom die and punch/presser attachment. I'm just surprised that there is no maker's mark or patent number somewhere on the unit. That could mean that it's a one-of-a-kind job by a machinist's supply company. Some similar machines, but intended for working in metal were made by the Whitney Metal Tool Company of Rockford, IL. That company was founded in 1910 and is still in business to day, known as the Roper-Whitney Company. Based on your age description, what you have is likely a cast product. Really interesting...
