At about 5:00, you talk about the Viking space craft gaining velocity by sling shotting around planets. I understand that. But then you say the spacecraft later kept losing velocity. If an object in motion is not interfered by any medium, wouldn't it keep the same velocity? So why would the Viking slow down?

It was getting further from the Sun gaining potential energy losing Connecticut edgy admittedly the effect get smaller the further out you go but it’s still there the Sun holds the whole solar system in its grip.

Maybe the gravity from the sun would pull it back and even though the object is not interfered by any medium, gravity would still affect it. This would decrease the velocity gradually the farther away it gets from the sun. It would also accelerate its speed the closer it got to the sun. (This is just my understanding. It may be wrong.)
