RARE Depeche Mode Enjoy The Silence Edited Outtakes

This is a different cut of the ENJOY THE SILENCE video, comprised of scenes that didn't make to the final version released on STRANGE TOO. The Outtakes have been floating around among the traders for long time (maybe 10 years). Foottage is about 45min long. This edit, although 9x shorter, is very interessnting. The picture quality ist weak, but you can see many funny moments with Dave and a few with Alan as well.

This is amazing. Just goes to show what a great team they were. I know people get fed up of hearing about Alan Wilder but he was a huge part of the band and I wish they could work it out and become the band they were in the best albums of their career. Martin still writes great songs and Dave´s contribution is great. I would just like to see the 4 of them together again.

Yes well Alan will always be part of the band. As for the trio they have going now they are as good as it gets and Alan still shaping and contributing to their music except now he does it through the creative process in the cosmos 💚💚💚 just as powerful as before

I find it odd how the humour within the band was largely missed by so many possibly as a consequence of trying to be taken more seriously in order to distance themselves from their very pop-focused roots. This short clip is a wonderful glimpse behind the curtain.

Me too. This remix is great. Ewan Pearson did a very good job with it because it blends pretty well the best bits of other Enjoy The Silence remixes like the pretty rare and awesome The Quad Final Mix. This video is pretty awesome too. It's so good to see the band smiling so much and enjoying themselves together like this. Especially when we know what came next (drugs/alcohol problems, depression & disbanding)

Martin was an absolute wizard with of all of the electronics and fabulous mixes and sounds he created! Add the others' talent and the voices of Dave and Martin, it was pure magic! It's a sound I could never get tired of.

Martin is the songwriter (genius). But it was Alan who did production (not to forget Flood of course): all those samples, mixes, sounds etc you mentioned. Without them Enjoy the silence would've been a ballad (a demo version is easily found on KZbin)

I do know that Alan played a huge part in the sound. I was a mother of 2 young sons and was in nursing school, so I didn't have a lot of time to focus on music. Who was Flood?

It's one of the many outtakes of the song mixed by the band, as well as Tim Simenon, Holger Hiller, Gareth Jones with Mimi Izumi Kobayashi, and Adrian Sherwood. Though this version was never released (as many DM tracked haven't been over the years), it's final form survives as "The Quad: Final Mix" of ETS. :)
