Rare Disease Day 2023: Post-Finasteride Syndrome - Simon's story

Thousands of men around the world are suffering from Post-Finasteride Syndrome after taking the hairless medication finasteride.
PFS is a poorly understood and highly underestimated disease as I still point out in this video.
The symptoms can be devastating and lead to suicide in young men.
Among the patients suffering from. Post-Finasterid-Syndrom there are more than 10 doctors and med students.
To raise awareness and funds to make this horrible disease treatable, we have to start to speak out. Especially we doctors and physicians.

Simon is a great man. Good to see him doing well that we used to talk 3 years ago. Thank god after 3 years most of my symptoms also went away. Only remaining issue is Peyronie’s for me but getting better. PFS is brutal and leave you alone even though you are surrounded with your family and friends..

I’m convinced now that these androgen and 5ar inhibitors cause dna damage. I’ve suffered so long I just don’t have the courage to end myself otherwise I would have done it from the start of this, nothing in life could prepare me for this nightmare, I’ll be 28 in a few months and it’s safe to say my life is over I have nothing left because of this disease. It destroyed me physically and financially beyond belief.

I feel you. Stay strong. It's better to speak out, raise awareness and by these means fund PFS research in order to solve it, that commiting suicide. There is a good chance this disease one day will be solved. But in order to get this funded we need more visibility to the world. Please consider speaking out. Even if it's anonymously on a medium page.

Wow thats brutal I have pfs for ten years but the side effects were brutal for 2 years but even then they were not that brutal sleeping 1 hour a night..damn I hope you get some help.

Yes, had PFS and still has. Since more than 4 years.

You don't have pfs you have mild pfs you have a libido and so on But you did have extremely severe symptoms in and coming off the drug. Maybe it gives hope that you could still reverse the muscle wastage.
