It was such a mystery there where you wonder what's going on in their heads. Exceptionally talented people has the most demons. After hus substance abuse, you don't hear the shyness so much. He was raised in the Black church and the white world here in the USA will never see him as a white man, no matter how light his skin is. In this country there has always been the one drop rule. He has had the Black experience in the USA. But African American culture plays a big part with El's identity and African American culture differs greatly in the USA

@MrRyanbernard Actually Prince is multi-cultural. His parents are considered black but are of mixed race. They're from Louisana and are mixed with american indian,french, italian and of course black. Purple Rain only had some parts of his true life most of it is just a movie. Prince didnt want to be put under any label he just wanted everyone to like his music. Yes she is bi racial but she identifies with Black and there is no confusion there for me because I have family members that look like her. Black people have never been historically categorized based on skin color. You can be as light as Mariah and I knew she was Black before she said ANYTHING about it back in 1990.
