He was raised in the Black church and the white world here in the USA will never see him as a white man, no matter how light his skin is. In this country there has always been the one drop rule. Purple Rain only had some parts of his true life most of it is just a movie. Prince didnt want to be put under any label he just wanted everyone to like his music. No matter how light skinned a person comes out they are still black. I have cousins with blonde curly hair and blue green eyes and their birth certificate says Black and they identify as Black and have no desire to be white. It is not their culture to be white Americans. Skin color does'nt define race.
