I know go-go heads seem to “love” this video, lol, but this ain’t “go-go” or at least the kind of go-go I used to love and grew up with in the 1980s/90s This is mostly hip-hop/gangsta rap that happens to have a go-go beat (at times), as opposed to go-go that happens to have some rappers do their sh*t with a pocket beat. Why even have Mickey/the congas, the base drummer (forget his name) and the other percussionists back there, when they could just use an electronic drum machine/keyboard instead? (halfway joking, halfway serious) I mean, where is the SOCKET BEAT? (I know this is only a portion of the show). Yeah, some of the joints in the vid are really nice, especially the ones that put crews and hoods on display, but this is mostly rap/hip hop, as opposed to GO-GO that happens to do some rap joints! Give me that OLD SCHOOL go-go that’s crankin’ and in the pocket (including the RE of 2018/2019), as opposed to some of the early 2000s sh*t that NY, Detroit, LA, Kentucky or Miami, etc. Bammas would have totally loved (the same ones that used to hate on “old school” go-go)

Old School l get what you're saying, but I'm definitely feeling this. I luv the old school go-go, but also the evolution of the music as well. It's good to appeal to both schools, the old and the younger.

Nah bro. I started listening in '79. Grew up on Benny and Funk, then Benny. This shit crankin here. I wasn't going to go go's in '04, but this joint crank homie.
