Media was not there but news papers and magazines did their jobs.The Illustrated Weekly of India was a dead paper. Khuswant Singh came as an editor and gave a new life to magazine. In his editor page he wrote "He had a chance to listen to a new singer who is hand some like Dilip sahib and sings like Mehndi Hassan sahib". His name is Jagjit Singh.That did a lot for him. Raj
