I was a huge fan. Watched most all his episodes. Created many scenes because of him. He taught me how to put feelings into my paintings. My mom tried to get one of those sets, way back when, but they were sold out. What a rare find.

I watched him. He was my original inspiration. It was easy to walk into a craft store and buy his all mighty paints and brushes. You are fortunate to have found this. I have 2 original unopened Bob Ross kits. Not sure if I'll ever open them. Bob was my second inspiration. Love him just as much.

Depending on how early the kits are you might find Alexander products inside. 😊

Is the big brush rare? I've got one but didn't know. It's a very interesting set for sure, and exactly what I would expect! Thanks for sharing it.

No wonder my mother never got the kit. 60 bucks of 70's grade cash...that's like 100 now. Those wooden implements of creation are beautiful.
@djfunkychicken9 ай бұрын
60 bucks in the 70's is about $400 - $500 today.. in 1970 a brand new car cost $2,500
@PleaseNThankYou9 ай бұрын
@djfunkychicken I do believe I underbid that one😆. In 67, my dad bought out 'big house' for 59k, and the last time I looked on Zilliw, it was over 200k. And the neighborhood has gone to hell. We will be paying 40k for a loaf of bread before the least among us realize we have been coupled to communism.

@@PleaseNThankYou Wow! Yeah it’s a an absolute joke how much inflation has increased.. 40k bread? That’s a bargain 🤣

@@djfunkychicken It might be a bargain at some point. Look at other Communist or communist-lite countries economics. It happened to them, it can happen to us.

Would the paints and Magic White even still be usable after more than 40 years?
@AAlexanderArt Жыл бұрын
Yes! They would be just as good as they were 40 years ago. Oil paint and Mediums are fine unless they are exposed to air. The Magic White used to have thinner in it. The thinner separates in the can and forms a barrier between the paint and air so it should be fine as well.

please don´t use this kit to paint! it has survived at least 41 years, maybe almost 50, in this conditions. please leave it like this! you would take the magic away, from that beautiful discovery!
@marcausn Жыл бұрын
Please do not use this vintage set for painting, just leave the brushes and everything as they are. If everyone uses the rest of those "antique" treasures, then there is nothing left to admire one day. You could just buy a new set (actual set) that will contain the same. As a collector of things I can tell you, there is nothing more valuable (mineywise or idealistic, than mint untouched witnesses of times. Please consider not using that marvelous "time capsule" you bought.
