GoldStar were the "gold standard" (excuse the pun) when it comes to entry level cassette tapes back in the 1990s. I've even used one to record our fledgling punk rock band at the time. BTW, I also have a GoldStar 14-inch TV bought back in 1995 that still works till this day.

@@retrocoreav7025 cool and interesting i have some akai cassette which it is saehan assembled too oh it's is in chrome position which it is type 2 also known as high bias and type 1 is ferric position also known as basic or normal bias so the fourth one is metal position or bias.

Looking at the hubs, I’d swear it was a made-in-Germany BASF, but it’s common knowledge that Saehan made their Ferro Extra I’s for the American market. It had the generic Saehan shell design. Never heard of LG making tapes for others, though; I thought they just put their name on Saehan or SKC tape.

@@cubdukat hmm maybe korean slap their familiar names on one of them using skc saehan or lucky goldstar too but i do have the legitimate real genuine saehan chrome cassette but there are ferrics as well but i doubt there is metal tape too.

That music is very very similar to Cappella - U Got 2 Let The Music (kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2SumpuNf7ebbLc)

Neither because my therory is those who don't make their own tapes use a mish mash of OEM bits not from a single brand even the tape and the leader different brands from each other as well so it's actually not so black and white what the heck no brand cassettes really have in them with my therory. Again the J card print seems to be yet again printed by a different brand that is clearly TDK cassettes fonts printed onto the J card. I think no named tapes are definitely more than they seem to be and are muiti brand involvement.

With the no sub amp equalization we can really tell the difference on your videos between the bass and treble here whilst on other channels the amp equalization seems to be doing the talking so both source and tape sound too much the same on KZbin. I think not that bad at all on the bass sounds exactly what I expect from a ferric with no equalization modes by any hardware equalizers on this tape. Treble is quite muffled on this ferric lost too much brightness to the source but sometimes you want that personality to convert a crystal synth track to a more 80s quality synth and this dirty ferric would give you exactly that a true 80s synth feel on an 80s synth soundalike from the modern days. Due to the track being fake 80s synth I actually prefer the Ultraman sound to the actaul sound because it's more real 80s. The end when it goes to pure bass sounded class on the tape. As expected from the sound itself which is good you did it before showing the tape as we got to see what it sounded like before we were told it's standard dirty ferric the colour looked a poo brown so it reallly was your mean green no frills attached dirty ferric with excellent bass response low end most other stuff as expected after the sound of it.

I want to give the purest possible sound so I take the audio straight from the tape deck direct in to the PC or Camera. No equalisation here 👍
