This was in 2000 and at age 14 he said, "By the time I'd get there those Freestyle guys will be doing flips and 360s and stuff, so idk bout all that." And he was totally right.

Absolutely, he was ahead of his time in Motocross in so many ways. Fascinating to watch this interview 20+ years later and after he's retired. He predicted a lot of what was to come in MX!

Seeing him ride as an amateur was, a treat. The talent and skill level was so far above any amateur and even any Pro in the 125 class. You knew that you were seeing something special. You could almost tell you were seeing a once in a lifetime talent. The guys racing today are fast, but I haven't seen a racer since James do more jaw dropping things on a motorcycle like it was a Sunday afternoon walk in the park. It was the little things that I appreciated. If you ever watched the practice sessions at a SX or MX National that is where the real jewels were.

Ya at the local track in bithlo fl he would come out and seat bounce jump things that weren't not even supposed to be jumped or much less even thought about being jumped.

Lmfao.....he didnt win as many championships on a 250/ 450 but he won a shit ton of races. So before you put your mouth( or fingers/ text) before your emotion you should look up his stats. Every time he lined up he inflicted fear upon 40 other riders. The only one to straight up beat him was Carmicheal.....and i guerantee RC was nervous as well. In the 125/ 250 class he dominanted yo the Point of being all time 125/ 250 MX winner of all time with 27 wins.plus he went from dead Last to first more than once on a 125 against the 250s. The only one besides RC to beat him was Chad Reed but Stewart was faster reed smoother. Your talking out your ass .... he would have won more if he knew how to slow down. He was the fastest man on the planet until the AMA fucked him over....cause Addereall??? Really.....have you ever race dude?. Ever watch him race in person??? He could do things on a mx bike that NO ONE has done before or since. What an idiotic statement you posted.... LMFAO

Nowadays you never here anyone in any sport say they plan on dominating. Its always some boring answer that they give that some people say "there so humble".
@excessmx2 жыл бұрын
That's true! To be fair though, if anyone did say they planned on dominating, most people would call them arrogant and full of themselves. Not to mention how many good riders there are now, it's really hard to dominate like that. Even Tomac has to really be on his game to win. But I agree it would be cool to have a personality like that to shake things up a bit.
@MichaelAMyers1957 Жыл бұрын
2 reasons. 1, they are too worried about a “ perfect image “. 2. they don’t have the confidence and belief to say it. When James said that, he truly meant that sh1t. He wasn’t arrogant about it, he cool but meant it. These kids today don’t want to eat their words if they don’t actually dominate. I wish someone would come along an cut some wwf style promos an be the bad guy that this sport needs. I’m so tired of the mr nice guy who thanks his sponsors and the magic man in the sky they call god. It’s so dull an boring.
