Well we know why...though this is beyond cool. And you're really not wrong in a sense. Perhaps in a few hundred years humanity will be revealed a shifting truth into the universe of intellectual life on other planets.

I'm a diver and the sea is the most fascinating and mysterious thing on earth.. I envy fish every time my oxygen tank is empty or hate that I can't dive as deep as I wish to go.. on the other hand it scares the shit out of me. it's a whole other world and we have no idea..

its interesting that he keeps saying how each of the fish is designed to do a specific thing. Most videos on NatGeo would have said it evolved to be like that.

@WhiteWolf4x I would say "fishes" refers to the different species, just as "peoples" refers to the various types of people, but we all know that "people" is used as a plural to refer to more than 1 person.

This is truly educational, but I wonder what effect the light has on the examination of sea life. In other words, the seafloor is extremely dark, so the jarring bright white light probably stops the fish from doing what they would normally do. Would we see them in a more natural state (thus a more complete study) if you used infrared technology?

@JCeiver612 That's wrong. Evolution is the process is minor incremental changes, each of which is a small adaptation to a species' habitat survival threats and opportunities. There is no 'design' involved whatsoever. The word 'design' implies that there is a 'designer'.
