I have a small Subpinnata that I'm rehabbing - my first order came with severe root rot and the replacement was not only rotten, but etiolated beyond the ability to stand. It did have lovely leaves, that first day... Quite like yours! (I do hope yours fares better!) One from my first order (three months ago) just gave me a leaf! I'd wanted it for ages, so I'm over the moon for a single leaf! I liked the other plants you shared, but there wasn't one that dropped my jaw, you know? The long, narrow Philodendron was groovy - but maybe my feeling there is more a reflection of your reaction to it! How you did this with such a cold is beyond me. You rock! Your enthusiasm is infectious! I've learned so much from you - starting with the fact that I don't know nearly enough about my plants! I'm remedying that 😊 Feel better! We can wait... But thank you most sincerely for sharing this unboxing. You're a delight!

This was such a beautiful box of plants! I was excited for every one of them. Huge fan of the A recavum. They are so resistant to drafty cold weather and extremes of wet and dry watering mistakes. The leaf shape on that one does look more like an A esmeraldense than mine does. Usually I have seen them with more elongated leaves and lobes than their cousin A. esmeraldense. Each anthurium is so unique, it probably just has its own shape and style, or it will change as it matures.

Great unboxing with a fab collection of plants 🪴💚🪴💚 I'm going to start with the ones that underwhelmed me, and that was the offolterianum, and the argyrostachyum. I've previously thought about getting those, but when you unwrapped yours I just thought they looked ok. They may change my mind after seeing future updates on them 🤷♀️ Now, the Anthurium recavum, waterburyanum, pinnatilobum aff, and Philodendron luxurians are super cool plants that I would definitely not be unhappy with in my collection, but the ones that really surprised me, and I would add to my wishlist in a heartbeat, are the Anthurium lancea and most definitely the flavolineatum.....I absolutely love those two 😮😍😍😍 I have the Monstera subpinnata but I'm finding the leaves sensitive to a number of things, so I'm going to be chopping it into wetsticks to start again 😢 I wish you the best of luck with all of them and I hope you have a speedy recovery 🙏🤗🤗🤗
@Houseplantygoodness8 ай бұрын
Great insights, Carey as always! It's fascinating how our plant tastes can evolve. Fingers crossed the ones that underwhelmed might surprise us in the future. 🌿💚 I instantly thought of you when I unpacked the lancea, I thought you might like it 😉

Memo: is everybody ready for an unboxing? 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Me: grabs phone to Google everything while chanting 'dogo's braces plants will wait' repeatedly A. Argyrostachyum is my fav - and yes, I did laugh when the second leaf fell off. Sorry I love the pin tuck look of those leaves. A. Lance's was very interesting, the water channel was amazing, adaptation is fascinating. P. Pinnatilobum aff Again, gorgeous pin tuck leaves. What does aff and sp mean? A. Affalterianum, pin tuck leaves again. Memo's got a theme happening in this order😅 All beautiful Memo. Hope you're feeling better soon (hoping your dad is too) thanks for making this segment even though you felt awful. 🇦🇺🙋🏻

WOW such cool plants. I have the Anthurium lancea and it is such a hardy plant. I went totally over board by the sale and got in 12 plants. 9 Anthuriums, 3 Philodenderons and one monstera subpinnata. But I had a drama for 5 days as the delivery guy didn't find my door. The only ones who are still struggeling are the philodendrons.
@Houseplantygoodness8 ай бұрын
Wow, 12 plants is an amazing haul! Sorry to hear about the delivery drama, but it sounds like you're doing a great job with them. 🌱💚 but yeah the Philos are always the ones that are the most sensitive for sure.

I'm about to place my first ecuagenera order, I was unsure between the A. Esmeraldense and the A. Recavum. In the end I'm going to go for the Esmeraldense (your species spotlight convinced me), now I only have like 10 more to decide from 😂

I bought a philodendron green sky at my states orchid show from ecuageneras booth. I asked for the philodendron esmeraldense, but they only had the green sky, which is similar. The it was only in moss and I repotted it into a nice and chunky mix. I may have put it in too much light. It wasn't in direct sun, but directly ish under a grow light that isn't super strong (average daisy chane shop light strength. It took a nose dive within one week, but I don't know if it is that sensitive to being repotted or if it was too much light. I'm very experienced at repotting. Which do you think is the culprit? It's been consistently in 50% humidity.
@Houseplantygoodness8 ай бұрын
Hey! 🌱 Light shock post-repotting can happen, especially under grow lights, even if they're not super strong. Given your setup and the 50% humidity, it might be more about the light adjustment than the repotting itself. Try dialing back the light intensity or duration and see how it responds. Keep us posted!
