I place plant in plastic bag zipped close and treat for bugs. For mealy bugs I used Systemic. I’m not picking no bugs. Virginia weather is still too cold. I purchased a Monstera Aurea cutting from Green Escape. A week old and I have short roots. 🪴Happy Planting🌿

Great finds…. I went to pick my daughter up from college; and found a ring of fire on clearance at the local Walmart…. Some Walmart stores seem to carry a large variety of plants….

I love that tortum! I have a baby I picked up at a plant fair. I called it my spinach plant, it was very weak and it took but a while to get the watering right but it's looking good right now!

I love your plant fine I also got some new plants on clearance at Walmart the other day they didn’t have the names on them just say fancy philodendron I really hate when they aren’t labeled they are from growers bench. I think they were a philodendron melinonii and the mayor philodendron lol but not 100% sure. Enjoy your day talk soon.

I’m always so proud of you and your plant collection. Tortum is on my wishlist hope I find one. I found everything you mentioned at my Walmart but the not the Tortum. I did buy a painted lady philodendron. Currently l am battling thrips on my favorite plant my monstera esqueleto. I remember you explained in a different video your method for separating your new plants in a plastic bag(I think) please tell me again how. Thanks in advance.

Hi Connie!!! Oh, I hope you find your tortum soon. I only found these in one Walmart near me. I have not seen them anywhere else. I am so sorry to hear that the thrips are bothering your plants. I just take a clear plastic bag and I close my new plants in the bag. I check it at different times of the day for at least two weeks. I spray a little something in the bag to annoy anything that may be living inside of it. I found thrips in a small african violet one time that way. I noticed them in the morning coming out of their hiding places. that one had to go. The bag tells all. The warmth of the bag will even wake up any sleeping bugs or hatchlings. I hope this helps!

Beautiful finds! I'm really attracted to the tortum and its been in our Walmart here but I am really trying to grow my hoya collection and mainly because they don't take up much room. 😂 But philodendron and alocasias are my faves of late. I did get an alocasia seedling but concerned it might not survive. I will share it with you all soon.

Hi Rach. I had the Tortum plant. Someone gave it to me, and I never knew what it was or how to care for it. It started trailing, and the leaves were falling off all over the place. I fi ally was sick of it and tossed it out. I know, I know. I definitely could have reported it into a larger planter, and I could have taken better care of it. Shoot, if I had known it was on your wishlist, I would have sent it to you.

Greetings Nola!!!! yay! you are right here with me. I found these in the Walmart on Rte 80. exit 8 on I91. They get great plants, but they go so quickly. Oh, I found a great plant selection in the walmart on I95 exit 67. I cant remember the name of the town. They had some great specialty plants there. They have a great selection all together.
