Freaking awesome seeing ARFF rigs rolling down a regular street code 3. However they need an air horn and Q. They look tough but talk softly 😂😂

@@Derek_Ch not train horns. They're bog standard truck horns, small ones too be exact... (Green one has a Hadley Ho640R and the red one has a Grover 1600)

Just realized I said train Instead of air horn. Thank you for the correction

Amazing catches!!!! Doesn’t get much better than that on ARFF responses!!! Very nice! Wish there was more video of red 4 with its all old lights

Great catch. You don't see to many ARFF types rolling code off airport. Nice code lights on those two rigs. Lots of airport ARFF's have poor code lights, I guess since usually they are on airport.

I figured the 1st apparatus would have a train horn blasting.

Do they not have crash trucks at the airport? Kind of an interesting setup if they have to respond via public roadways every time there is an Alert 2 or Alert 3?
@natesiebert28407 ай бұрын
Their station is only about a mile from the airport

Love the air horns on both of those ARFF rigs. What are those air horns called on the Red 1? I assume that the air horns on the Red 4 are the Grover 1600.

Hadley Ho640R, normally used on Mack MR and Autocar Xpeditor trucks, primarily used in the trash and concrete drilling business.
@911chap039 ай бұрын
@@shaneharrisnj3484 I'm not sure about that. Because all I know about the Hadley H00640RP is that it's mostly used on Volvo trucks, and sometimes Mack trucks. Usually Mack trucks have the Hadley H00640R, which is different than that.
@shaneharrisnj34849 ай бұрын
@@911chap03 I just realized that... they are quite tiny in size and all I can think of was "Mack MR/Autocar Xpeditor horn and a former Volvo/White-GMC option". I just don't get why everyone else is inappropriately calling that a train horn... It's tiny, it's not loud and it's certainly not bombastic as a set of Buells.
@911chap039 ай бұрын
@@shaneharrisnj3484 Gotcha. Yeah, the mini-loud-thingies are not as loud as you think. They are louder than car horns, but fire truck air horns are louder than semi truck horns, and train horns are even louder than those others. But I get what you're saying, the Mack MR series, Autocar Xpeditor and White GMC/Volvo trucks had those different air horns on what it comes to those ARFF rigs using besides Buell air horns. I wish truckers used the Buell horns on their semi trucks or largecars as well though. They're almost as loud as fire truck horns and train horns.

Did that second one share the same chassis as front pouring concrete trucks?
@armadillerff10 ай бұрын
Pretty much both types of trucks are made by Oshkosh. Which also made the new ARFF truck (Red1) and also is the parent company of Pierce.

not all airports actually have a fire department on the airport property so you may see the ARFF trucks respond on the road
