Earlier this week, Filly and I got invited to the British Museum in London to see their brand new Manga Exhibition which showed us never before seen examples of Akira Toriyama's ORIGINAL manga drawings before they were scanned in plus other rare exhibits from the world of manga! Toriyama doesn't do any events or fan meet ups, France gov't recently awarded him an 'prestigious award' (last week I think) and he sent his publicist rather than going himself. So this chick meeting him twice qualifies her for her own award.

Wish something like this would come to America (specifically Dallas, Texas). The closest I've seen was in 2011 when the Japanese Pavilion at Epcot did an exhibit on Japan's ancient culture influencing their modern pop culture (stuff like decorative scrolls inspiring anime wallscrolls, Journey to the West inspiring almost everything, etc).

Finally manga gets the exhibition it deserves. Reminds me of my senior highschool year art project. The style and theme I chose was manga and comics in order to break the norms of what society defines as "fine art" and express what I think and feel should be acknowledged as one.
