RARE! TRAINS PASSING At 4 Way Railroad Diamonds Under Me! COAL TRAINS & Auto Racks Trains With DPUs

Trains Passing Over Railroad Diamonds Right Under Me! Auto Racks Trains With DPUs & Big Coal Train At Railroad Crossing In Front Of Museum. 7 CSX and Norfolk Southern trains in Marion, Ohio. Includes local switching freight train with conductor riding on the side in reverse. Funny audio as he sees railfans filming. Marion is about 50 miles north of Columbus and several railroad routes come together at the historic Marion Union Station.
First we see 2 Norfolk Southern trains passing each other in opposite directions as they cross the railroad diamonds below me. I was filming from Tower AC. It's cool how the ends of both trains crossed the railroad crossing at about the same time.
Next we see a westbound CSX auto racks train with a mid train DPU. That train was followed by a Norfolk Southern coal train heading towards Appalachia for another load.
The 5th train is a CSX auto racks train with a DPU shoving on the rear. Listen to the DPU locomotive working hard on the rear of the train as it hits 4 diamonds and continues on eastbound.
The 6th train is a Norfolk Southern local switcher. They were returning after working customers south of Marion. Listen to the railroad audio as the train passes us railfans. That was epic!
The final train is a northbound CSX coal train. This is a heavy loaded train at the railroad crossing in front of the museum. That was a great catch for me because I don't see much coal moving in my area. That line only had 3 trains on it out of the total of 19 that we saw. 5 minutes after we left a big manifest went north on that line. Figures. Lol.
Best frequencies are 161.190 for Norfolk Southern, 160.860 for the CSX east/west line and 160.230 for the north/south line. We also have a short slide show at the end and we get see my new puppy. The girls are calling him Loki which is short for locomotive. Also featured in this video is Buckeye Freight Railin and 1960gambit.

Thank you for this second video on your trip to Marion, Ohio on 17 May 2023, Jaw Tooth! Did you notice that the first two Norfolk Southern trains passed the road crossing at the same time. The two auto rack trains were impressive. The auto rack train with the mid-train DPU must have been over a mile long. The loaded CSX coal train was impressive.

Apart from enjoying the trains, for me, it's like a travelogue of the "Real USA", countryside and country towns. Stuff us foreigners don't get to see on TV or in movies.. That double diamond is amazing and great catch of twin trains crossing. As a by the by for anyone reading, I heard recently that US Freight railroads haul 6 times more freight than the rest of the world combined each year! That is a truly staggering statistic. Cheers

All those auto racks are coming from Marion Industrial Center just East of Marion. They have a big ass parking lot out back of there where they store brand new cars that came from the factory. There is also an intermodal yard there, too. They'll park those auto racks down from where you are near those big wind mills you can see westward. There is a big yard there where they stage the full auto racks before they are moved to Marion Industrial Center to be unloaded.
