Dave amazing videos as always. Thank you. Just wanted to let you know that I am Persian myself from Iran but living in US. I am a Turquoise collector myself specially of course the true Persian turquoise (not what you see in US mostly labeled as Persian in US) and I am 100% sure what is labeled there in this video as Persian is wrong and mislabeled. By the way your theory about us loving only the absolute Robin egg blue without matrix is wrong. We do love the matrix, wear and collect it and it is highly prized and expensive in Iran as much as without matrix one. Again, unfortunately because of the relationship between the US and Iran, there is definitely a lack of true information.

I didn't get around to the miners co-op, but I did get some nice turquoise and varicite from the Otteson family, Sunwest and Mckay.

19:00 Thats definitely not Persian turquoise. Not from Neishabour mine (the original Persian turquoise; Nore from Kerman (the one with a lot of pyrite. Thats probably from an unknown mine they are selling as Persian (who knows. maybe Afghanistan). In Iran people like different types of turquoise and some spiderweb are the most expensive turquoise you could buy (some rare Persian turquoise from Neishabour mine come out like Lander Blue and those are the most expensive turquoise). But yes in general the pure blue turquoise is the most popular one. It could be because its rare in the Neishabour mine, no religious reason. While Muslims are advised to use Turquoise, Agate, Emerald, Saphire/Rubby (in Arabic they are the same thing) and Hematite from China (A hadith from Imam Ali); other stones are also advised by the progeny of the prophet and is used by Muslims, particularly Shias.
