A common mistake or misconception in identifying the maker of early 20th century watches signed A. Montandon for sellers is in ascribing them to Albert Montandon (having seen this name on pocket watches from the last quarter of the 19th century). These are two entirely different makers, indeed, Albert Montandon Geneva wasn’t even a maker rather a product line sold by a company Veuve John Magnin & Guédin. This documentary aims to identify the actual watch fabricator behind these curious and lovely pieces dating circa 1895-1930, Alphonse Montandon-Bandelier (AMB) of La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland.
