I collected Matchbox cars in the late 50's-early 60's for 50 cents each. Back then 50 cents was 90% silver and had some buying power. I had a Cadillac Matchbox car with a hitch that hauled an oval shaped trailer for camping. Those were the days.

I remember paying that price for Matchbox car's. 50 cents bought a-lot more in the late 50's early 60's compared to today. Don't have any of my old Matchbox car's. I used to have quite the collection.

I fully understand. After I left home, my mum gave 2 large boxes of my model vehicles from matchbox, dinky and corgi to my much younger cousin, without even asking me. As far as she was concerned because I didn't play with them anymore I therefore didn't want them!!! He didn't need them, he's a well paid doctor now earning much more than I do!!!!

I had 2. The transport and the cement truck. Gave them and many, many more to my cousin about 1980. Have regretted it ever since and especially now.

I'm 65 years old and I still have about 107 matchbox cars from when I was a kid in the 60s. I actually have a few of the ones listed on this video however none of them are in the original box. I have two Matchbox carrying cases that I keep them in.

that wire wheel #41 ford gt has not been authenticated...id be wary paying big money for that ...you didnt show the the #30C 8 wheel crane in turquoise thats a $1500 plus model...that worth about 2k...also the king of all rare lesney matchbox is the #13 reverse color dodge wreck truck...9k to 12k

I had a Lincoln like the one here but in mint green. I'm guessing the lime green is the rare one. I had a cement mixer similar to the one here but with black tires. Actually,I'm not sure the colors were the same. They probably weren't. Interesting just the same.

Be careful that all the given prices correspond to specific variations, for example the rare #41 Ford GT 40 is that with the large grey wheels (9x20), while the regular versions (with small 8x18 grey wheels or any size black wheels) are worthless...

If you actually have, I'm interested. The versions shown here are very rare indeed, but you must check that the ones you have do correspond, since what makes the rarity is the colour of body, or wheels, or even some specific cast variation not visible in the video...

Still Have the Cement Mixer from Xmas of 67, Needs a Paint Job. Still Have the Lincoln 4 Door, my 1st Matchbox from 1969 that my Pops bought me after I Moved to L.A. Hardcore Matchbox collectors will know the "why" for these, but not explaining why each of these particular models are rare is pretty lame. For example, #10, rare Jaguar due to the red hubs/black wheels.

Good to know that these car's are still aroung is cool. The prices are well I think questionable. Only because I see these as still what they are. Don't get me wrong, still love them. But some people don't understand. The prices go up and down, they are just looking at the business end. What makes them rare is finding the people who loved them as kids. Which makes them very rare.

Well that's totally annoyed me!!! I not only had the super kings k16 petrol tanker (which was a bonneted Daf tractor unit) but I also had the same unit but in blue which came with a gold low loader trailer. I remember doing trailer shops between the two. Being a kid at the time whats the first thing you do when you get home from the model shop? Yep you've got it, your new models box goes straight in the bin!!! If only we all knew better back then!!!

Sooo I have a Fodden #26 in orange (no box, Average played with cond.. as per all mine) #16 Snow Plow (sans plow) #17 Hoveringham Tipper #19 Aston Martin DBR-5 sans driver #25 [BP] Petrol Tanker #58 Girder truck with 5 girders #70 Grit spreading truck #30 8 wheel crane #47 Commer Ice Cream van A small red un marked thing that looks like a smaller diecast wheel version of (Dinky 233 COOPER BRISTOL #6 Race Car) to name a few of the old toys Dad had as a kid that I managed not to destroy as a kid. I went to the local tip shop last year and got an ok Radicon Mercedes SL 230 some damage, box water damaged & tatty, for $10NZ goes with dad's Radicon Bus I also have "The first and only complete Radio Control Toy".

It's also too bad that; this educational video has nothing to do with, 1/24th scale die cast metal model flying saucer jets. The flying saucer jets are better than helicopters. This takes me back to the time when; the British air man Frank Whittle invented, the first combat jet in 1929. It definitely replaced airplanes.

No them prices are correctly atleast iff them aren't uded and with the box. This are the highest prices people did buy it for on ebay not the asking price.
