I talked to a Dutch IM at our chessclub..he did not like studying..so for years he opened with the white pieces pawn a3..and had a positive score until he met strong GM's, he may have lost something

I used to know someone who would play all sorts of "garbage" openings OTB and they were the toughest things to deal with.

@@squareonechess6939 It seems that even though they don't directly take on the move sequences of main line openings, they only survive or win by eventually coming back to things like the struggle for the center, piece mobility and all that stuff.

Yeah, like I said, its not good, maybe only useful for blitz to get your opponent out of book quickly
