Every little detail is important, like the snow ,the voices of the different crew members, the hum-sound of the engine, like a mechanical-being-breathing.All these things are pulled together as only YOU,with your-eyes,your mind & your-sense of seeing & Living could-do.Your-Vision is uniquely ....YOURS..please make more....videos

When I was a kid I remember that bridge. An operator would take a small boat over to bridge from the town of South River. He would use this long steel bar put into the gearing part of the bridge, in the middle of bridge and walk around in 360 degree circles until the bridge was closed, lock it.After the train went over the bridge open it back up. I would hope that this bridge,if it is still there,is on the historical list.

Ronald, you probably are talking about another bridge... in South River belonging to the old Raritan River RR. This bridge shown above is between South Amboy and Perth Amboy and called the Raritan River Bridge, NJCL. or River Draw. It would take more than one man to turn this bridge by hand, if at all possible. It's over 300 feet long.
