Treasures in change? Wealth through a coin in your wallet? Rare misprints?
These three questions can be answered with yes, no and maybe.
You certainly won't get rich from your change, but it's still worth taking a closer look and there are definitely interesting finds for collectors. But what can you find?
In this video I show you a variety of Euro coins from circulation that were found and also pieces that I bought for my coin collection.
👉 MILLIONAIRE through change? - What's the truth about the myth?
► • MILLIONÄR durch Wechse...
The video begins with several rotation errors that are inconspicuous in everyday life, but are still sought after by collectors and can be worth a few euros. Afterwards comes a beautiful 2 euro commemorative coin with an interesting planchet error, so that this coin has a small hole.
It continues with a minting weakness, caused by a dirty minting die and a 2 euro coin with a slightly "fried egg".
A rarity awaits you in this video too. The rare and valuable 1 euro coin with the rotating stars. These rare first mintings of German euro coins are now very popular among collectors and, depending on the condition, cost 600 euros and, in rare versions, several thousand euros! These coins are not incorrect mintings or designs, but rather the first German euros in which the difference in the alignment of the stars compared to the EU flag was only noticed after production had started. Actually, these coins were all supposed to be devalued by rolling, but as it happens - some coins escaped this fate. I also show you one of these devalued coins in this video.
Another focus of the video is on the many small "errors" that can occur when minting many millions of euro coins. There are coins with a double edge, several die breaks or material accumulations and a German 1 euro coin where the eagle can see particularly well. The Mhytos around the 2 Euro Greece from 2002 with the "S" in the star also attracts attention.
Finally, a detour into the world of coin sets and collector's coins and the importance of the original packaging for such collector's editions should not be missed. In addition to the 2 Euro Grace Kelly from Monaco from 2007, the most valuable and rarest 2 Euro commemorative coin for years with only 20,001 coins and a value of approx. 3,000 Euro, a set of coins from the Vatican from 2005 for the Sedis vacancy can also be seen with a mintage of only 60,000 copies and an equally high value of around €250.
