When I was working my way through a20 on all chars, I hit a massive wall with the silent and then an even bigger one on the defect. Defect is such a weird character that they almost seem like they’re from another game lmao. And then I played Watcher and realized that the Watcher is so op that a20 watcher was easier than a10 on other characters lol. StS is super fun, glad you enjoyed the game.

I used to think Watcher was very hard because she required a lot more thinking and maths than other characters. Then I watched Frost Prime. Needless to say, nowadays I agree with you completely, the character's foken OP

@@sallomon2357If you try to play slow and do wacky combos on the Watcher she is in fact super difficult. However if f you just remember that you have lethal and maximise how often you go in and out of wrath she is so strong

Defect is iconsistent in a frustrating way. It's difficult to beat a run without any sort if frost generation, so if you don't get offered any you die in act 2

Thoughts on Ironclad difficulty? I recently started playing and I was initially planning to gradually work my way up ascensions with ALL characters... Then I kinda felt that sticking to just one of them is better to actually learn how to make proper decks for the char

I saw frost videos on the weekend. It amazed me how your mistakes and noob traps were almost the same I had. Same with good cards that seem bad (like the importance of "strike pluses" to survive early elites). This, applied to balatro (jokers), hearthstone, gwent, etc is what makes me love card games: Noob traps and cards with disgusting value that is hard to see.

The important thing to remember about the ascension grind is that not every run in slay the spire is possible to beat. I've done all the characters on A20 now and it gets really frustrating on the 11th loss in a row with defect not getting halfway through act 2

Funny thing about Ascension mode is that Ascension level 1 is actually easier because the extra elites give you extra relics. I found Silent to be easiest as you can either go infinite shivs with after image for infinite damage and block or stack infinite amounts of poison.
