sheed in the post was so dominant...that UNC basketball education still paying off today...if you sat him next to Hubie Brown, Rasheed would be perfect courtside

Well honestly it might’ve been too much talent and not enough basketball 🏀 to go around for everybody. Remember what happened in 1994. The Tar Heels we’re returning four starters from the national championship team of 1993 and then brought in three super talented freshmen. They never had any chemistry though. Too much bitching about playing time and who should be starting (Stackhouse was better than Reese and Wallace was better than Salvadori), but Dean Smith was usually deferential to his seniors and upperclassmen. I think even he knew the freshmen were better, but he was reluctant to forsake his four seniors who had just won him a national championship the year before. He didn’t want to lose the team by promoting the freshmen above them. That lack of team chemistry can destroy a team and we saw that in 1994. They had the talent for sure but not the cohesion and that’s why they went from a national championship to a second round tournament elimination in the space of a year.

All the way up in Ohio, after the tourney in ‘95, people were talking about what a great young core that UNC had. Can’t blame the guys for getting their bread though.

Man, this game brings back so many memories. For one, it should have never gone two overtimes. If sheed makes one FT down the stretch, we win in regulation. PLUS Sheed got a COMPLETE bullshit 5th foul call on him late in regulation which allowed Cherokee Parks to go to the line & tie it....As a matter of fact, Parks mugged Stack on that same play and of course, because it was Cameron, somehow Sheed got the call on him :). Then, if Pearce Landry doesn't try and take a charge w/15 seconds left on Capel, we Still win in OT....Watching this is hard, because this was for sure one of Dean's most talented teams....it's a real shame this team didn't win it all.

And if I’m not mistaken he fouled out in regulation and this game went to double overtime which makes those 25 points stand out even more.

UNC hasn’t had the dogs that sheed and Vincanity brought to Carolina in a long time , the game is soft the players are soft and basketball in general is soft . I miss those days man ….

Not deep enough. Wallace said it himself. If he and Stackhouse had stayed and played with Jamison and Carter, they win the national championship

Highlights was more intense than current nba games smfh. Ball was jus different in the 90’s especially Duke vs Carolina or Duke vs Michigan for me. And Kentucky was my team too man I hated Duke I’m happy they suck now lol
