Regarding footballers becoming professionals in other sports. Well not a brit, but in Denmark we had Knud Lundberg. He managed to represent Denmark on the highest level, in three different national teams spots. Football, Handball and lastly Basketball. He competed in two Olympics, winning a Bronze medal while captaining a 5-3 victory over England in 1948 at Wembley. Playing a total of 40 games for our national team, being our Captain in 27 of those games. While playing football, he managed to finish his studies as a medical doctor, however never taking the Hippocratic oath. Hence why he nickname was "The Doctor" (Doktoren in danish). He also represented Denmark at the 1952 Olympics. He then, simultaneously with his football career, also managed to play 23 games for our national handball team - scoring 26 goals, and if all that wasn't enough, he also managed some matches for our national basketball team. Ohhh, he also wrote more than 50 books, basically launched indoor football in Denmark... And ohh yeah, more or less invented the danish sports drink, Faxe Kondi.

The Rashford and Casimero debate: they can absolutely do what they want, it’s their time, crack on. BUT.. we are talking about professional sports persons competing at the top of their game. A 3-4 day trip to the US is not conducive to optimal performance. Gary is spot on here about this. This isn’t even taking into account the new manager arriving or the fact that Rashford is currently stinking the place out and the reason he has free time is that he’s not been picked for England. One would think he’d be doing everything he could to regain his spot.

Two players who are on their way out. Rashford's prime was a few seasons ago if you can call it a prime. Casemiro's past it and lucky to be still playing.
