The man is under unbelievable amounts of pressure but still has a smile on his face. He knows what Utd have become the last 10 years and instead of staying in the comfort and glory of Sporting CP, he took the bull by the horns and put his reputation on the line to save Manchester Utd. You cannot help but love the guy.
@jpazinho2 күн бұрын
That's Amorim's career in a nutshell, before this move, he moved to Sporting CP (arguably in a far more complicated situation than Man United) from SC Braga and the glory and recognition he was finding... Just remember that he moved from a contender to league cups and European football spaces, to a team with no championship titles in 19 years, league cups were a distant memory (albeit far more recent than a league champion title), a team that was crushed by fans who were very aggressive at times (it got to a space where fans felt the team's poor performance justified an invasion of the training grounds and physically assault players a couple years earlier), a club crushed by debt compared to its rivals and that struggled to finish in place that would grant them access to European football... previous toxic leadership that crushed the club DNA, finances and caused a revolving door of managers...In many regards, what he did with Sporting CP is more complex than Man United (it just the case that Man United has a different scale).
@mestrinimaster36022 күн бұрын

@@mestrinimaster3602 lets be honest....yes the facilities were invaded by a group of organised thugs and criminals... but their behaviour only took place because they felt justified and validated by the wider discontent of the fans then (as if they were defending the club by doing so).

His style of play was effective in a counter attacking/transitional football, hence why he was having his best time in ETH first season. I would imagine it's gonna be tough for him to adapt to Amorim's system because wingers will have more defensive responsibilities and we know very well tracking back and pressing are not his best attribute.
