I am a huge fan of Ustad Rashidji for more than 32 years. What a voice he has gifted with. Certainly he did Saadhana so much that, today everybody wants to listen him. Attended his many live concerts in Hyderabad & Mumbai. His voice simply takes us to another world. Especially this Raag is my one of most favorite & he rendered it so beautifully. I have listened this raag unaccounted times, particularly after dinner in bed, so shooding. To me this is the best Malkauns gayaki. We are very unfortunate to lost him at very early age. An astonishingly beautiful rendering of Malkauns! The first line of the lyric should be written as "tu hai malik mera" (तू है मालिक मेरा) - using the intimate "tu hai" (not "hain") that expresses the close connection between the soul and the divine. A small point, but an important one; the honorific "hain (हैं) sets completely the wrong tone.
