My dad passed away 2.5 years ago. I was just about to go to bed at my dormitory at the University when I received the call from my mum. Raced to the hospital but couldn't get there before he left. No tears were shredded. Did not shred a single tear. Don't know whether if it was me not comprehending that he was really gone for good or if our relationship were just not that strong but I didn't really feel anything. For these past 2 years, I've graduated, got a job, and experienced a whole lot of other things. There are moments when I just feel 'I wish dad was here doing this with me or witnessing this' but I never shred a tear for him. Heard this song a few days ago when I was listening to the radio. Didn't really pay attention but I liked the rhythm. Searched for the lyrics and BAM. I don't know if it just fits perfectly into me or if I am projecting myself into the song, but its exactly how I am feeling. The only difference is: I now know who my daddy was, or is: he was my shelter and my lighthouse that I took for granted. He supported me and gave me the chance to be who I am. I miss you dad.

Got this song recommended to me by my aunt, after my dad had passed, I got hooked on Lukas Graham after that and today is one year ago my dad died :/ Shit doesn't get easier, hard to be happy when my dad missed my sons 4th birthday, missed seeing him ride on his big bike without training wheels. I do cherish the moments I got to see him play with my son, but damn it's still hard, which is ridicilous when you consider all the shit that is going on in the world, all the wars, killings... I mean dad got to be at least 45 years old in Sweden, so he had a good life albeit a relatively short one.

Truly one of the better talents I've heard in a long time. The deliver, the sound, the structure. It's just beautiful. I have so much connection to so many of these songs and I truly hope I get so much more from this talented artists. I grew up on hip hop and 70's classic with a side of John Denver and the Indigo Girls. I listen to just about anything and everything. i love this song so much.........i grew up without my father in my life because he was in and out of jail, even when he wasn't in jail he wouldn't bother to see his kids....i remember in school we were making cards for a roll model in our life and everybody in the class was doing one for they fathers and i did one for my mother because she played the mother roll and the father roll.....i didn't really know father until i was 14 and he didn't know how old i was, what grade i was in or what sport i played but i learn to forgive and forget my father for his mistakes songs like this make me so happy and forget thing like that

I love Lukas Grahams' songs. I can tell he is totally gifted. I've seen a lot of haters critisizing his music during all these years but, as usual, I could not care less lol. I've always liked the singers I liked, period, even if everybody said they were cheesy, commercial, girlish, shallow, or whatever. Couldn't literally care less. I recall liking back in the years Alejandro Sanz, Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini and dozens of others, and people almost laughing at my face, and I COULDN'T CARE LESS. Don't give a sip! Never be ashamed of who you are and who/what you like, unless you hurt others, and definitely trust your own feelings.
