I used to go there in the 1980's looks somewhat different back then I remember there was lot more vegetation probably got more rain back then. The spot with the motorhomes are parked used to camp right in that spot also. We didn't call it Rasor road we just called it baker didn't even know the name of that road. What I liked was had little of everything some dunes, desert trails. Back in those days the Shell station was a Chevron if I remember correctly I do remember the road was right off the parking lot that has to be the place. So many good times there night rides were the best used to ride all the way to the train tracks pick up rail ties they would throw off to the side of the tracks when they replaced them. They soaked them with creosote burned in camp fires really well we carry one rail tie each strap them to the bikes. I had a 87 KX500 and buddy had a 3 wheeler drive all the way there from the beach in my old ford pickup few cans of food and cooler of beer all we had slept on the ground in sleeping bags LOL. All we did was ride 3-4 days till we ran out of food. Back in those days no phones hoped didn't get stranded you only see others on weekends lot of times no one for entire day.

Do you exit Basin road or Rasor road to go to the campsite @:30sec. How far off the 15 freeway? Thanks!

Rasor. not sure exactly how far but it is aways and bumpy. Basin will take you there eventually but it would be a long loop
