Great video, thanks for posting it. I could really use some help with a mpu9250 gyro/compass/accelerate unit i just purchased for my raspberry 4. I followed several articles and videos like yours and instructions but early into the setup there is a test "sudo i2cdetect -y 1" command to ensure the unit is recognized but i can never get it to show up. I changed my i2c settings, modified the boot/config rebooted and retried and zero luck. i had to solder the pins and i while i am not the best at soldering i was very careful. When unit is connected, vcc registers 3.3 volts, i tested continuity from the solder joints to the pins etc. all perfect. is there a good way to tell if I damaged it? i seriously doubt it because i used a different off the shell accellerometer and it too is not recognized. Are there some common reasons to prevent device detection you can share?
