The “missing” ADC pin is connected to Vsys via a voltage divider so that it always reads Vsys/3 (IIRC). The most obvious application is to check for low battery although there’s probably other uses as well. It’s somewhere in the Pico data sheet (not the RP2040 data sheet) where they have a full schematic for the board.

Thank you so much I want to get in contact with you as my Masterthesis including recording Microphone on SD card and the cluster records between a group of pre defined events. But I find this lecture is very helpful.
