Used a couple of your videos to get my Pi TV Hat up and running through Kodi with logos, top man, thanks. Hit a roadblock where the transponders for my area in TVHeadend are seriously out of date, so I had to do a lot of dancing to get that bit fixed!

@@Eyerex I think I noticed that behaviour as well, where I edited one mux, and the others just seemed to auto populate. Re picons, yes, but I FTPed in and looked in the dir and the files were missing - I remember something went wrong with the unzip. Just unzipped and transferred again. I remember doing all this about 15 years ago for cable TV on the old linux based DBOX 2s 😅. Currently chasing down HD channel picture quality issues related to Kodi. On my PC, the stream on VLC is 100% perfect, on the same PC in Kodi though, it isn't, there's slight ghosting on panning scenes - looks sort of fuzzy - and on channels like QVC there's an annoying flicker around static text and graphics on the screen. It's something to do with the 50Hz transmission and the 60Hz refresh rate of the TV... probably a quirk of Kodi, because like I say, VLC has no problem dealing with it.

@@yorkshireplumbing Good to hear you got Picons working, i've only ever used Kodi a couple of times to see what it's like and couldn't get on with it so use TVheadend Apps on all my devices ie iOS and Android which work really well plus TV on Kodi feels clunky

@@Eyerex Aye, I like the EPG on Kodi but it is pretty slow for the TV. The UI on the headend web interface really does my head in though, it's fine for setting up purposes but for everyday use it's no good. Not sure what other options are available for WIndows 10. I hear Windows 11 will have much better support for Android APKs and the Linux sub system natively supports graphical UI programs, so that will open up a few more options.

Hello, I want to start off by saying your tutorials are excellent and easy to follow. All credit to guys like you who voluntarily take time to post helpful tutorial videos. I started looking into videos of tvheadend setup and stumbled on your chanel. I've recently bought myself a raspberry pi 4 and I've followed your steps to setting up the os on the pi and setting up open media vault + tvheadend server. Everything is working except I can not get my recordings to work in tvheadend server. I have created a shared folder with read write privileges and samba enabled in open media on a 1tb Hdd attached to the pi. I've put in the file path of folder in recordings and still can't get a successful recording. Any help with my issue would be greatly appreciated!

If i'm right in thinking you want to setup TVheadend and have the Pi plugged into the TV ? just not sure how you will control but will have a read. Have done a video how you can setup a Pi and TVheadend and have it run as it's own little server which doesn't need to be plugged into a router (will work in a middle of a field via Phone or Tablet)

WARNING!!!!!!! if your use a Hauppauge WinTV-dual HD and are thinking of using with a Raspberry Pi4 and Raspberry Pi OS DON'T as you will see a mass of errors ie Continuity and Data down to "write to i2c device at 0xcX failed with unknown error" in Logs only way to fix is to use LibreELEC as a backend then install TVheadend or use a Pi3 B+ which works perfectly

@@Eyerex Thank you. I have a single tuner setup with a TV Hat module and the picture is great, but it doesn't appear to be possible to piggyback more than one, which is a shame considering it is also relatively inexpensive, so it would need to be paired with one or more usb tuners.

Mate not sure if you can help me out but I'm having issues getting streams to play on my pi zero. My setup: pi zero w with tvhat running tvheadend in the UK (Freeview) So I've been battling with this for weeks at this point to get streaming working on the pi zero itself, I've got as far as SD channels are scanned in but no HD (apparently there should be 10 in my area), I can access them on my phone using tvhclient and play with VLC player as external player and also have recordings setup and epg working. When I try to access this using VLC on the pi itself it asks for username and password, I enter this and it doesn't play, I've tried installing Kodi and tvh add-on, This finds my channels and recordings but when I try to play a channel 19/20 it will just show a blank screen witht he timer going up (sometimes with audio but not all the time and also 5-7/20 it will fully crash Kodi and have to reset pi) I have already got my mpeg2 license activated aswel, I don't really know any other way to get this to work and I don't know why that 1/20 it will play. I even tried using every iptv app and kodi on my Xbox one to see if It would work but none of these worked, they got the channels (apart from Kodi) but same thing black screen when trying to play doesn't matter whether I choose the local m3u file or remote URL it doesn't seem to work. But works consistently on my phone on various apps, dreamplayer, tvhclient and the other tvhclient app, and also works on VLC on my pc. If you have anytime to help me with this I'd appreciate it very much as it's been weeks at this point and not sure what else to try. I just want TV in my bedroom lol Thanks
